Workshop Title: Watercolour  Painting Techniques Workshop

This five day watercolour painting course will cover a range of painting subjects and techniques.

The workshop is for anyone wanting to take their watercolour painting skills to a new level. Joe Cartwright is an award winning Sydney watercolour artist and tutor who enjoys the spontaneous nature of watercolour artwork. It is a great medium for creating beautiful atmospheric paintings.

His paintings cover a wide range of topics as he feels any subject can be the basis of a great work of art. Atmosphere, light, tone, and space all feature in Joe’s work.

Some of the topics which will be covered in the workshop include how to create atmosphere and space in a watercolour painting, painting design, and drawing skill development.

Joe has a very approachable manner that encourages questions. His teaching style provides lots of useful practical information in easily absorbed portions.

His workshop is designed to help you develop your understanding of watercolour painting giving you important tools for use while travelling and in the studio.

A variety of subjects will be covered including street scenes, landscapes, figures and seascapes.  While concentrating on watercolour painting with a brush we will also look at how to use watercolour pencils as a medium.

Open to students 16 years and over
